My Moms

Updated: May 9, 2021

In the past, I have spent valuable time and energy dwelling on the lack of a relationship between me and my mom. The future is unknown and the door is not closed forever so I will pray for a solution that brings closure to us all. Until that bridge can be mended, I vow to keep a positive light on Mother's Day so here is a post dedicated to all of my Moms - I am so lucky to have more than one incredible woman to look up to 🥰

Kim Edmondson - the woman who literally saved my life. It was very difficult to love you this much AND be one of your employees 😂. I can now openly love you and give you the credit you deserve. I learned the definition of accountability from you and I became an adult under your guidance. One of the hardest things I have ever done was leave the safety blanket you provided and venture out to be a business owner myself (in another country, no less).

Odilia Gillam - the mother-in-law from heaven. You found a recipe for parenting that I can only try to replicate. Being loved by you is a blessing, one that I do not take for granted. From the moment I met you, I wanted you to like me but it surprised me when I realized, I also wanted you to love me. You are a fierce mother, a woman who knows her rightful place and does not stand down. You are far from shy and you put family as a top priority. I only hope, one day, to be as loved and admired as you are.

Joan Bell - the woman who adopted me, no questions asked. You are 100% present, always there for everyone, day or night. You have been one of my biggest supporters, from the decision to move to the US, owning a business and even starting a Blog. You and I share a special bond that I will always cherish.

Andrea Huizingh - my newest Mom! You have opened your arms and your kindness amazes me. You share your opinion openly, always with my best interest at heart. I hear from you more than I do my own son 🤣. You are always there for me, ready and willing to help. I don't know how I would have got through this pandemic without you. COVID-19 or not, you have a place of love and respect in my heart.

My Honorable Mentions

The Moms I look up to, the Moms that do their job with little to no recognition for 364 days out of the year. Each of these Women have qualities that I admire ❤

Liz Malandruccolo - My sister and my first mother figure; you are assertive and caring. I remember a time when I did not want to be apart from you.

Carissa Medeiros - My sister-in-law and confidant; you are committed to your family, your career and your faith. You are kind and loyal.

Stella Medeiros- My sister-in-law and friend; you are understanding and trusting. I can come to you for support and you will always back me up.

Tracy Andrade - My best friend and the Ying to my Yang; you are honest and real. You are gorgeous and hilarious (obviously).

Kelly Puim - My dear friend and sister from another mister; you are patient, with a wealth of compassion. You have strength and courage beyond anyone's expectation.

Lindsay Bouwmeester - My friend and favorite neighbor for life; you are considerate and gracious. You are modest and reliable - always willing to help.

Naina Parmar - My friend and soul sister; you are a visionary, you see a deeper meaning to life's complex events. You are enlightening and wise.

Isabel Skilliter - My friend and spirit animal; you are authentic and creative. You have an ease and light about you, attracting all things good.

Jennifer Jager - My dear friend and favorite tea date; you are beautiful and gentle. You are easy to talk to, considerate and genuine.

Megan Peirce - My friend and my partner in crime; you are adventurous and daring. You test the limits and persevere in every circumstance.

Candace Howell - My friend and extended family; you are joyful and enthusiastic. You bring optimism and clarity to any situation.

Melissa Ferriera - My friend and fashion twin; you are sincere and imaginative. You have a calmness with an unshakable faith.

Each year, I will do my best to recognize the AMAZING Mother's all around me. Mother's Day is the perfect day to recognize the strong, dependable, loving women around us. We all have a Mom and whether its by blood or by choice, let them know what they mean to you.

Happy Mother's Day💐
