The scale is up (again), I am at 207.6lbs, that's 0.6 lbs more than my heaviest weight. I'm not sure how I feel about it. On one hand I am getting bored of all the tracking and on the other hand, if I wasn't tracking or even making an effort, how much worse could that number possibly be? The weight on the scale is not how I define myself but it is a good representation of my need to create and sustain a healthier lifestyle. When I set out to do this publicly, I had hoped it would give me a different outlook, something to keep me accountable in a new (and possibly, fun) way. I don't know if that is the case anymore.
Here's my week in review: I went on a date with a new friend. A Portuguese woman whom I had never met before, her name is Edie. We met for dinner and I was that person that ordered a seafood pasta dish, it was drool-worthy to the power of 10. Edie explained to me that she has struggled with her weight over the years and she is looking to find her own balance between eating healthy and still enjoying life because while she lost a mess of weight before, she remembers being snappy and reactive. I knew, while we chatted back and forth, that I was in a different state of mind, I wanted to just have a good time. My first outing with a new friend in over 2 years, why not right? Then I spent the rest of the week preparing for the Customer Appreciation Event we planned to host at our place of business on Friday December 2nd and Saturday December 3rd. It went ok, not great and not terrible, just ok. I would like to attempt to do it again in 2023 but I'll have to tweak a few things like maybe have someone else do the live draw on our Facebook page, I may be good with words on paper but LIVE, no script, just winging it... let's just say, the 2 viewers I had only watched out of pity😂. Last night, Saturday night, Kevin and I were invited by my new friend Edie and her husband Bob, to go see some live music in North Myrtle Beach. We had an awesome night, good music and great conversation. Kevin warned me that I might be coming off a little overbearing since this was our second time hanging out and I've already bought tickets to a Christmas show for me and Edie and invited her to go to an open house with me next weekend. I told Kevin, "I know what I'm doing" (repeating these events leads me to believe maybe Kevin was right, but since he doesn't read my blog often, he'll never know I said that 🤫). In my defense, Edie has already messaged me to invite us over for homemade Portuguese food 🤤 at their place next Saturday, so there!
I'd really like to share a photo of myself today (sarcasm is hard to convey in written form) but I thought it might be nicer to share a few pictures of the birthday boy... He turns NINE today (roughly 72 in dog years).
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZEUS!
