UP week 8

Updated: Dec 28, 2022

I was trying to think of a good excuse to skip this week's weigh-in. I was going to claim I was too busy or feeling under the weather or possibly 'forgetting' that it was Sunday 🤪. That was my train of thought yesterday. I awoke after a very restful sleep and reluctantly got on the scale to find that I am down almost one whole pound, 206.8lbs total. I was happy to see that I wasn't any heavier especially since I didn't change anything about my food choices from last week to this week. Onto this weeks events...

The Christmas activities have officially begun! On Friday night I went to my nephews High School Christmas Show and it was phenomenal! His best performance to date and I loved every minute of it🤩. Saturday morning started out with so much excitement and anticipation as we met up with over 20 fellow Portuguese residents to watch the World Cup Soccer game; Portugal vs. Morroco and no amount of prayer, napkin-twisting, nail-biting, leg-twitching or cursing at the big screen TVs could bring us the win😞. It was fun though, to be together and cheer on our team #ForcaForTheEuroCupNow 🏆⚽. I will say I had to fight back the tears when I saw Ronaldo so upset😢. We were spoiled on Saturday night at a friends house. Homemade Portuguese food and some serious laughs with a great group of people. I have to hand it to Edie, she left that disappointing soccer game and slaved over a stove to make a 3-course meal for 7 people, she deserves a medal 🥇. This morning was different/interesting because Kevin needed/wanted my help with his Mercedes. This was a big day, he drove the Mercedes for the first time since he bought it in April 2022. My job was to pump the brakes so he could bleed them and then follow him during his ride, just to be safe. I took my weekly full-length selfie while I was out helping Kev at a friends garage and I was dressed to go straight to a Christmas Craft Open House, with Edie (the poor woman can't get away from me 😂). I love all that stuff and today I bought 4 ornaments for the tree (see picture below). I am looking forward to this week, as we get closer to Christmas, the toasty warmth of the season further sinks in🎅🎄❄🤶. I feel a bit guilty for trying to back out of this post; I should know better by now that not everything comes easy and things worth doing usually have some level of hard work.
